Monument Mountain Tops Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Jade Abderhalden went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double Thursday to lead the Monument Mountain softball team to an 11-4 win over Pittsfield.
 
Abderhalden drove in four runs in the win.
 
Lexi Carpenter went 4-for-5 with two triples and a double and drove in three runs in a 17-hit attack for the Spartans.
 
Andrea Paul earned the win in the circle, striking out seven, walking one and allowing three earned runs.
 
Ella Bassi led Pittsfield’s offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple. Ava McMahon also tripled, and Mia Dejesus was 2-for-3 with a double.
 
McMahon went the distance in a losing cause, striking out five and walking a pair.
 
Pittsfield (7-10) waits to see who it will face in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
 
The Spartans (12-3) go to Mount Greylock on Saturday.
