PITTSFIELD — Pittsfield High School pitcher Giuliana Pierce was nearly perfect in pitching her team to an 11-0 win over Chicopee on Monday.

Pierce gave up a second-inning single, had the runner retired on a double play, and set the rest of the Chicopee hitters down in order as PHS won its 14th-straight game.

Pierce struck out seven, did not walk anyone and PHS (14-0) played errorless defense behind her, meaning she faced the minimum 21 batters in the game.

"We played St. Peter Marian on Friday and that was a good test," Pittsfield coach Greg Marchbanks said. "There are still a couple of little things we need to work on."

Britney Perkett was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for Pittsfield, Natasha Shade, Jordyn Lummus and Tess Lyon each had two hits and scored two runs.

Hayley Tobin was 2-for-4 with five runs batted in. She had a two-run double in Pittsfield's six-run second inning and drove in both runs with a single in the third.
