Lenox Hangs on to Edge Taconic

LENOX, Mass. – Grace Julieano caught a fly ball in foul territory to strand the tying run on second base and secure a 14-13 win over Taconic for the Lenox softball team on Monday.
 
The Millionaires erased a seven-run deficit with an eight-run fifth inning, going ahead 12-11.
 
After Taconic came back and tied it up in the top of the sixth, Julieano doubled in a run and scored on Lilly MacDonald’s RBI single in the bottom of the inning to put Lenox ahead, 14-12.
 
Taconic rallied for a run in the top of the seventh, but could not push another tying run across.
 
Cassidy Flynn went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Lenox, which got two hits, including a double, and two runs batted in from Julieano.
 
Flynn and Evelyn Julieano split time in the circle, allowing seven earned runs.
 
Maddie Harrington led Taconic’s offense, going 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs in a 13-hit attack.
 
Ella Stodden was 3-for-5 with a double, and Kylie Duhamel was 2-for-4 with a double for the Thunder.
 
Taconic (2-1) goes to Wahconah on Wednesday.
 
Lenox (2-0) hosts Drury on Tuesday.
