Mazza, McCann Tech Come Back to Beat Westfield Tech

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Walter Mazza scored 16 points, and Jacob Howland scored 13 Wednesday to lead the McCann Tech boys basketball team to a 48-47 come-from-behind win over Westfield Tech.

 

“We went down big in the first half but played a great second half,” McCann Tech coach Chris Bullett said. “I’m very proud of our heart and togetherness.”

 

Westfield Tech took a 28-12 lead into half-time.

 

Mazza hit two 3-pointers and scored 12 points in the third quarter to help the Hornets outscore their hosts, 22-8, in the third quarter.

 

In the fourth, Howland scored seven points as McCann Tech pulled ahead for its fifth win in six games.

 

The Hornets (9-5) host Ludlow on Friday.
