Hornets Win Defensive Battle

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Zach Howland scored 13 points, and the McCann Tech boys basketball team Tuesday clamped down on defense to earn a 42-22 win over Mohawk Trail.

Neither team could get much going offensively in the first half, which ended with the Hornets ahead, 14-8.

Howland scored 10 points in the third quarter, when McCann Tech stretched its lead to 24-12.

Vernie Percy and Kale Kondel each scored six points in the win.

McCann Tech (5-3) hosts Westfield Tech on Friday.
