Taconic Sets Rematch with Pittsfield in Western Mass Semis

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Kyle McGrath scored 17 points, and the Taconic boys basketball team Monday overcame a slow start to earn a 69-43 win over Frontier in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
 
Frontier led, 14-11, after one quarter, but Nate Reynolds knocked down a 3-pointer and scored six of his 11 points in the second quarter to help Taconic take a 31-27 lead into half-time.
 
In the third quarter, the Thunder put the game out of reach, outscoring Frontier, 22-5, to build a 21-point advantage.
 
Ceasar Santos scored 13, and Martin Boua added nine in the win.
 
Top-seeded Taconic (16-3) takes a four-game winning streak into Thursday’s semi-final, where the Thunder will face city rival Pittsfield for the third time this season.
