WAREHAM, Mass. – Aaron Cote scored 25 points to lead the Wareham boys basketball team to a 74-51 win over Wahconah in the quarter-finals of the Division 4 State Tournament.

Jake Wasuk scored 18 points for Wahconah, which got 15 from Jack DuCharme and 11 from Cooper Calvert.

“Wareham was an excellent team,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. They made us play at an uncomfortable pace, and we got sped up on offense, which resulted in too many turnovers.

“I’m incredibly proud of the way our team competed. We played with heart and toughness and didn’t back down tonight. Regardless of the score, we continued to compete.”

Wahconah finishes the season with a record of 15-7.

“Our senior class has meant so much to this program for what they’ve done on the court, for the culture and standards they helped build,” Belcher said. “They’ve truly left their mark, and the Wahconah basketball program is better because of all six of them.”
