Mount Greylock Boys Clinch Western Mass Berth

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Zachary Ronnow led three players in double figures as the Mount Greylock boys basketball team defeated Greenfield, 49-34, on Wednesday to earn a spot in Western Massachusetts tournament.
 
"We've checked off one of our goals for the season, which is to make the Western Mass tournament," Mount Greylock coach Bob Thistle said. "I'm really proud of the kids. We graduated seven seniors last year.  It's a whole new crew this year, and the kids have worked really hard.
 
"We're excited to get into some March Madness."
 
Ronnow scored 16 points, including seven in the third quarter, when the Mounties (10-6) broke open a 23-18 game and took a 42-21 lead into the fourth.
 
Sean McCormack scored 15 points, and Patrick Storie added 13 in the win.
 
Mount Greylock hosts Lenox on Friday night. Two weeks ago, the Millionaires prevailed, 53-47, when the teams met in Lenox.
