Shepardson, Perry Lead Pittsfield Past Watertown

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Makai Shepardson and Malachi Perry combined for 42 points Monday to lead the Pittsfield boys basketball team to a 71-45 win over Watertown in the second round of the Division 3 State Tournament.
 
Shepardson scored 22, and Perry was right behind with 22 for the Generals, who stormed out of the gate with a 20-9 first quarter.
 
Nunu Brown scored seven, and Briawn Thompson had six points for PIttsfield, which got offense from 10 different players.
 
The third-seeded Generals (18-5) advance to the state quarter-finals against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Martha’s Vineyard (15-6) and No. 6 Medfield (17-4).
