McCann Tech Girls Start Year 3-0
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Faith Brazeau scored 11 points on Tuesday to lead the McCann Tech girls basketball team to a 38-13 win over Springfield Commerce.
Aiden Champney added 10 points, and Madison Rougeau and Alexis Lemanski scored six and five respectively for the Hornets, who took control with a 17-3 third quarter to open a 31-6 lead.
“Overall, I’m very happy with how the girls are playing to start the season going into the vacation” McCann Tech coach Justin Kratz said. “Some things like turnovers that we still need to work on and there were some nerves going into the game which played into the slow offensive start as well.
“Both commerce and us were 2-0 in the league going into the night, and, in recent years, our girls haven't been in positions where they are playing for something like first place in a league so this was a new experience for a lot of them but a positive one. Aiden and Faith as seniors did a nice job setting the tone and energy level for the night and Madison Rougeau is getting more comfortable in her role as point guard each game.”
McCann Tech (3-0) is off until Jan. 2, when it goes to Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter.
