Taconic Girls End on a High Note
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Kiannah Josephs scored 16 points Thursday to lead the Taconic girls basketball team to a 57-44 win over McCann Tech in the Thunder’s season finale.
“It was great to end the season with a win and having all our girls play their hearts out in the last game of the year,” Taconic coach Jason Conuel said.
“We relied on our captain, Kiannah Josephs, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Evellyn Croce with 12 points and Melanie Hamilton with 10.
“Our defense was fueled by the great hustle of Jalana Smith, who ended up with eight points for the night.”
McCann Tech got a game-high 17 points from Madison Rougeau and 10 from Alexis Lemanski.
“Really proud of how hard the girls played throughout the game,” McCann Tech coach Justin Kratz said. “I think the couple little spots where we lost composure a bit will be helpful in terms of learning how to play more disciplined basketball for 32 minutes and be good lessons for us as a team heading into postseason play. Tough night but happy with their effort.
McCann Tech (15-3) finishes the regular season on Monday at home against Putnam Voc.
Taconic finishes the year with a record of 3-17.
