Mount Everett Girls Win, Set Rematch with Lee

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Gwen Carpenter Wednesday scored 25 points -- including 16 points at the foul line -- to lead the Mount Everett girls basketball team to a 60-50 win over Lenox at the South County Tournament.
 
Kelsey Netzer hit five 3-pointers to score 17 for the Eagles, who ran their record to 5-1.
 
Jackie Hathway scored 22, and Alice Najimy added 14 for Lenox (3-3).
 
The Millionaires will look to break a three-game losing streak on Friday when they take on Monument Mountain in the tournament’s consolation game.
 
Mount Everett faces Lee (5-1) at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last year’s Western Mass Division 4 semi-final, won by the Eagles in overtime.
