Wahconah Girls Qualify for State Tournament

DALTON , Mass. – Madison McCarthy Saturday scored 24 points to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 56-36 win over Taconic.

 

With the victory, Wahconah qualified for the Division 4 State Tournament.

 

Brooke Harrington scored 12 points, and Anna Doyle added 10 in the win.

 

Wahconah led, 28-15, at half-time and put the game away with an 18-11 third quarter. Harrington scored six points in the third.

 

Evellyn Croce scored nine points to lead Taconic, which got eight points apiece from Kiannah Josephs and Jaelynn Walker.

 

Taconic (5-11) hosts Hampshire Regional on Monday.

 

Wahconah (10-6) goes to Chicopee on Monday.
