Wahconah Pulls Away Late at Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Madison McCarthy scored 18 points, and Danielle Hagmaier added 17 Thursday to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 55-42 win over Taconic.

 

McCarthy hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored nine points in the fourth quarter, when Wahconah outscored Taconic, 15-9, to pull away.

 

Brooke Harrington scored twice from behind the 3-point arc and finished with nine points in the win.

 

Taconic was led by Evellyn Croce with 17 points – 15 on 3-pointers – and Jaelynn Walker with 10.

 

The Thunder (5-13) goes to Amherst-Pelham on Monday.

 

Wahconah (12-6) waits to hear who it will face in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
