Taconic Girls Show Fight in Home Loss

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Brooke Beggs scored 22 points, and Ella Knox added 21 Friday to lead the Pioneer Valley Christian girls basketball team to a 73-43 win over Taconic.

 

Despite the loss, Thunder coach Jason Conuel liked some of what he saw from his team.

 

“This was our first game where we played with great intensity for four quarters,” Conuel said. “We have to focus on making baskets and hitting free throws.

 

“Most importantly, we have to improve our rebounding and getting back in transition. If we cut down the points in transition, the score would be a lot different.”

 

Taconic went 9-for-22 as a team at the foul line in the loss.

 

Toni Ahoussi led the Thunder with 13 points. Kianna Josephs scored 10, and Evellyn Croce added nine.

 

Taconic (1-7) hosts Easthampton on Monday.
