Wahconah Girls Top Taconic
PITTSFIELD, Mass. —Ashley Zink scored a game-high 19 points, including a key 3-pointer down the stretch, to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 42-32 win over Taconic on Wednesday night.
Wahconah (3-2) trailed, 21-19, at half-time but took control of the game in the third quarter, when scored eight to help her team take a 32-25 lead.
Taconic (1-3) did not go away quietly. But a 3-pointer by Zink with 3 minutes, 5 seconds on the clock made it an eight-point game, 38-30. And Wahconah hung on from there.
Emmy Cote added nine points for Wahconah.
Taconic was led by Jasmine Rodriguez with nine; Ashley Rufo added eight.
Taconic travels to face South Hadley on Monday.
Wahconah travels to face Lee on Tuesday.
