McCarthy Leads Wahconah into Sweet 16

DALTON, Mass. – Madison McCarthy scored 18 points Saturday to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 63-38 win over Blue Hills in the Division 4 State Tournament first round.

 

McCarthy knocked down four of Wahconah’s 10 3-pointers.

 

Gracey Farley scored three times from behind the arc and finished with 11 points. Danielle Hagmaier scored 13 points to round out a trio of Wahconah players in double figures.

 

Hagmaier scored nine points in the first half, when Wahconah built a 30-12 half-time lead.

 

Fifth-seeded Wahconah (13-8) is home on Tuesday in the Sweet 16 against Cohasset.
