Greylock Girls Qualify for Tourney with Win over McCann
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Lauren Howard scored 17 points Thursday to lead the Mount Greylock girls basketball team to a 55-29 win over McCann Tech that punched the Mounties' ticket for the Western Mass Tournament.
Mount Greylock took control in the first quarter, when Jenna Benzinger scored eight of her 13 points to lead her team to a 20-4 advantage.
Grace Dodig added eight points for Mount Greylock (10-7), which travels to Lee on Monday.
Alie Gibeau scored 10 to lead McCann Tech (4-11). The Hornets travel to Turners Falls on Friday.
