GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Sadie Keegan scored 16 points, and the Pioneer Valley Christian girls basketball team pulled out a 47-44 win over Monument Mountain on Tuesday night.

The Spartans had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but, after getting the look they wanted for a 3-pointer out of a timeout, the shot did not fall for the home team.

“It was a really competitive, back-and-forth game between two teams that played really hard,” Monument Mountain coach Joseph Valerio said. “A lot of good things to build off of moving forward.”

Ynes Bourdon scored 10 points to lead Monument Mountain, which got nine from Brooke Decker and eight from Caroline Becker.

The Spartans were forced to play short-handed in the second half when Mallory Lucey left the game with an injury at half-time.

Monument Mountain (0-2) goes to Taconic on Friday.
