Fast Start Lifts Lenox Past Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Grace Julieano Monday scored 18 points to lead the Lenox girls basketball team to a 50-38 win over Monument Mountain.

 

Layla Soules scored 11, and Katie Shove added nine with three of the Millionaires’ 10 3-pointers.

 

Lenox jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

 

“Difficult first quarter, and we had our opportunities to get all the way back into the game,” Monument Mountain coach Joe Valerio said. “But we just couldn’t get over that hump tonight.”

 

Addison Kramek scored 14 points to lead the Spartans, who got seven from Caroline Becker and six from Mallory Lucey.

 

Monument Mountain (3-8) hosts Drury on Tuesday.

 

Lenox (2-7) is at Lee on Thursday.
