Castillo Joins 1,000-Point Club for Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Pittsfield High’s Harolyn Castillo Saturday scored her 1,000th career point in a loss to Minnechaug.
 
Chaug’s Cailin O’Brien scored 17 points to lead the Falcons to a 54-37 win.
 
Castillo’s milestone came at the foul line early in the second quarter, where she scored her 999th and 1,000th points, helping Pittsfield take a 28-22 lead into half-time.
 
But Minnechaug clamped down defensively in the third quarter, outscoring the Generals, 11-1.
 
And Chaug’s Zahara Wilson scored all 10 of her points in the fourth to help the visitors put the game away.
 
Caprese Conyers scored 11 points to lead Pittsfield. Castillo scored eight, and Madison Stetz finished with seven points and a team-high nine rebounds.
 
Minnechaug (10-2) came into the game as the fourth-ranked team in Division 2 statewide.
 
Pittsfield (9-4), currently ranked second in D2, is currently scheduled to go to Longmeadow on Monday.
