Lenox Girls Reach Final of Western Mass Class D

LENOX, Mass. – Alivia Mauer scored nine points Wednesday to lead the Lenox girls basketball team to a 42-36 win over Monson in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D tournament.
 
The Millionaires took control of the game with a 20-point second quarter to take a 25-11 lead.
 
Mauer hit three of Lenox’s five 3-pointers in that second quarter.
 
The margin was 40-19 going to the fourth.
 
Kelly Nicotra scored eight points in a balanced Lenox attack that saw six different players score at least four points.
 
Lenox (14-5) advances to Saturday’s Western Mass final between the winner of Thursday’s game between Hoosac Valley and Pioneer Valley.
