A 33-year-old New Lebanon NY man was killed in a logging accident in Stockbridge yesterday shortly after 12 noon. Police said Medical Examiner Dr. Benjamin Glick pronounced Lincoln Marsh dead at the scene. Investigators said Marsh was killed when a birch tree crashed down on him while he was working on a wooded hillside above Mahkeenac Road. Police said it appeared that Marsh was cutting down a large pine tree which fell against a dead birch tree about 6-8 inches in diameter. The dead birch tree reportedly broke off and fell on the victim. Police said March appeared to die from a head injury but he was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield for an autopsy.
