VNA of Northern Berkshire offers flu shot clinic during annual bazaar

Print Story | Email Story
NORTH ADAMS, Mass - The Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of Northern Berkshire will include a community flu vaccination clinic as part of its second annual VNA & Hospice Bazaar on Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held at the agency’s headquarters, 535 Curran Highway, North Adams.

A flu shot is recommended for all adults and anyone wishing to reduce the risk of contracting the flu this winter. There is no charge for the vaccine but donations are accepted to offset the cost of the clinic.

Proceeds from the annual bazaar benefit the VNA & Hospice Fund.

Besides the flu shot clinic, the bazaar will include a silent auction of specialty baskets and craft table; a food basket raffle, 50-50 raffle and a baked goods table, popcorn, nachos and cheese, and soda. Face painting and lollipops will be offered for children along with a children’s raffle. Also on display will be the VNA & Hospice Holiday Tree.

The VNA & Hospice provides comprehensive home health care services including skilled nursing and home health aide services; hospice services; IV therapy; pain management; physical, occupational and speech therapy; parent/child health services; and medical social work. The agency also offers community programs including regular health screenings, immunizations, health education, bereavement support, and an Alzheimer’s support group.

Hospice services include medical, physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and bereavement support. The program engages dozens of volunteers who work directly with patients and families.
