Mill City Productions announces auditions

Mill City Productions will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of “Zombie Prom” – a rock musical parody of teen horror movies in the atomic age – on Monday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 8 at 6:30 pm at their theatre in Building 4 (next to the Visitors’ Center) of the Western Gateway Heritage State Park. Teens and adults of all ages & experience levels are invited to audition.

Those auditioning should come prepared to sing about 30 seconds of a song of their choice a cappella. Auditioners will also be taught a short dance combination and will be asked to read scenes from the play; no prepared monologues are necessary. Please dress warmly with layers comfortable for movement. “Zombie Prom” will be directed by Mike Grogan, with choreography by Liz Urban & musical direction by Marissa Carlson.

Rehearsals will be May - July, with performances during the third & fourth weeks of July. Mill City Productions is a non-profit, community-based, multigenerational collaborative focused on creating an outlet for expression and education for theatrical veterans and novices alike.

Mystic, Conn., Rolls Past SteepleCats

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Camden Righi went 3-for-5 with a double Tuesday to lead the Mystic Schooners (5-1) to a 12-2 win over the North Adams SteepleCats in New England Collegiate Baseball action at Joe Wolfe Field.
 
Parker Camelo was 2-for-3 at the plate for North Adams, which scored both its runs in the bottom of the ninth.
 
North Adams used six pitchers in the loss. James Morr and Joe LaPrade each provided an inning of no-hit relief.
 
The SteepleCats (0-3) are at Martha's Vineyard on Wednesday night.
