Ephs remain in 2nd place after winter season in Directors' Cup competition

CLEVELAND, OH. – After trailing Cortland State by 27 points after the fall season the Williams Ephs remain in second place after the winter season in the Learfield Directors' Cup competition, but now Williams trails archrival Amherst by 58.50 points.

The Ephs scored in six winter sports, while Amherst notched five top-five finishes and scored in eight sports to take over the top spot. Cortland State slipped to seventh.

Williams tallied 294.5 points by finishing fourth in women’s swimming, 10th in wrestling, 14th in skiing, 21st in men’s swimming and 48th in both men’s and women’s track and field.

The Ephs, winners of 12 of the 13 Directors' Cups presented in Division III, including the last 10 in a row will, need another strong spring campaign similar to last year to come from behind extend their string of Cups to 11.
