Northern Berkshire Community Coalition To Host 12th Annual Neighborhood EXPO

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Northern Berkshire Community Coalition's 12th annual Neighborhood Expo will focus on "Food Matters." It is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 to 1 at the St. Elizabeth’s of Hungary Parish Center on St. Anthony's Drive.

The expo will feature networking, music, cider and activities from 9 to 11, followed by a sneak peek at Sharon Wyrrick's "Food Matters" documentary film, then a World Café discussion, and finally lunch at noon prepared by local chefs using locally grown products.

The public event offers a chance for folks to come to the table, eat, reflect and celebrate locally produced food. Members of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition appreciate the role that food has played in family and community traditions. At the request of many people, Joe Manning was selected to act as host/facilitator of the day.

Dr. Emily DeMoor will lead the World Café session, during which all are invited to share memories of food traditions, as well as their ideas on eating healthy food and preserving local family farms.  The Taste of North Berkshire community lunch is made with local food by chef Joe Mazza. A free-will donation is suggested.
