Romance, Soul & Rock N’ Roll, 8th annual fall show
PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Romance, Soul & Rock N’ Roll, a Pittsfield based amateur musical revue announces the date for their for their 8th annual fall show. The group will perform on November 13th and 14th, 7:30pm at Berkshire Community College's Robert Boland Theatre. They will return on November 21st at 7:30pm to perform at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. Tickets for all shows are currently on sale.All proceeds from their shows are donated to the Berkshire County Chapter of the Jimmy Fund and are used in various ways to help local families stricken with cancer. Over $15,000 from the 2008 shows was donated to the Jimmy Fund.
This year is the eighth show that show director and performer Ted Concepcion along with his Assistant Director, Donna Vidoli, have produced for the charity. This year's show, entitled “ Romance, Soul & Rock N’ Roll presents Peace, Love & Music”, promises to be just as entertaining as their previous shows.
Joining Concepcion is a 23 member group of some of the most talented amateur performers in Berkshire County, who have been frequently rehearsing, perfecting yet another exciting and entertaining show composed of all new songs and all new choreography. Leading the dancers once again this year is Dance Captain, Kate Frissell. While these types of charity shows are unique to this area, RSRR's dancers are just as unique to RSRR in that they are the only dancers participating in a show of this type, who for the most part, have no formal training but come across on stage as having trained for years!
The six member live band, under the direction of Alan Gold is as impressive as the cast line up. In addition, Alan also is co-vocal director along with Michele Marano, who arranged all the vocal harmonies.
