GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Bard College at Simon’s Rock presented service awards to longtime employees at its annual recognition dinner on Friday, Nov. 16.
Provost Peter Laipson, faculty, and staff paid tribute to 20 employees for their contributions to the College.
Larry Wallach, faculty in the arts, was celebrated for 40 years of teaching, composing, performing, and bringing music to the region. A resident of Great Barrington and organizer of the South Berkshire Concert Series for over 30 years, Wallach continues to bring a wide variety of musical experiences to the Berkshires.
Don Roeder, faculty in science, mathematics, and computing, and Priscilla Cote, registered nurse, were recognized for 35 years of service. Roeder is the cofounder of the Berkshire Environmental Research Center and serves on the board of the Housatonic River Initiative.
Joan DelPlato and John Myers, faculty in the arts, Collette van Kerckvoorde, faculty in languages and literature, and Gill Panchy, student life, were honored for 25 years of service.
Leila Miller, security officer; Judy Moro, business manager, and Barbara Shultis, housekeeper were recognized for 20 years of service.
Anne O’Dwyer, dean of academic affairs, was honored for 15 years of service.
Russell Miller, database applications specialist was recognized for 10 years of service.
Employees recognized for 5 year of service included Debbie Dillon, database applications specialist, Brendan Matthews, faculty in languages and literature, Julie Rathbun, business office clerk, Steve Carignan, director of physical plant, Denise Dufault, application intake coordinator, Steve Coleman, director of admission, Melanie Guerin, external initiatives assistant to the provosts office, and Valerie Fanarjian, director of activities.
