Northern Berkshire Registry of Deeds Names First Assistant Register

ADAMS, Mass. — Deborah A. Moran of Adams recently was promoted to the position of first assistant register at the Northern Berkshire Registry of Deeds.
Moran has been employed at the Registry of Deeds since August 1992 and has served under the last three registers. She was hired by then-Register of Deeds Edward W. Buckley Jr. as a junior clerk; he later promoted her to microfilm operator. Former Register Christopher Solari promoted her to head administrative clerk and Register Frances Brooks advanced her career further with a promotion to administrative assistant, the position she held until this most recent appointment.
As first assistant register of deeds, Moran is responsible for operations of the office as well as assisting the register with various duties and projects. She will be supervising the staff of four clerks with a strong focus on customer service.
Moran has an extensive background in real estate. Before working at the registry of deeds, she was employed by the law firms of Freedman, Derosa & Rondeau, Cain, Hibbard, Myers & Cook and Grinnell & Dubendorf, as well as Taconic Title.
An Adams native and a 1977 graduate of Hoosac Valley High School, she is the daughter of John and Cathy Moran of Adams. She has one brother, David, of Cheshire, who is director of facilities at Berkshire Community College.
