NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — MountainOne announceD the appointment of Jennifer Meehan as Vice President, Community Engagement Officer.

In her role, Meehan will drive MountainOne's community engagement efforts throughout MountainOne's footprint in the Berkshires and the South Shore.

Meehan's primary focus is on cultivating relationships with strategic community and nonprofit partners; directing MountainOne's community dividend giving program; coordinating community financial education initiatives; and organizing volunteerism opportunities for Mountaineers within the local communities that MountainOne serves.

Through these efforts and in collaboration with other key internal stakeholders, Meehan will ensure the fulfillment of MountainOne's Core Commitment of Community Engagement and its Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) responsibilities.

Prior to this role, Meehan served as Director of Community Engagement at Berkshire Housing; Director of Volunteer Services & Community Engagement at Southwestern Vermont Healthcare; and Director of Marketing at the Berkshire Family & Individual Resources (BFAIR), where she collaborated with a vast array of community businesses and organizations, managed outreach campaigns, and events.

Within the Berkshires community, where she is a lifelong resident, Meehan currently serves as Vice Chair of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, as well as Board member for the Northern Berkshire United Way. Personally, Meehan "loves seeing the creative, cultural economy find partners in the business realm."

Companion Corner: Weber at No Paws Left Behind

By Breanna SteeleiBerkshires Staff

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — There's a young cat waiting for a family to play with him.

iBerkshire's Companion Corner is a weekly series spotlighting an animal in our local shelters that is ready to find a home.

Weber is a 10-month-old domestic shorthair. He has been at No Paws Left Behind since November.

Volunteer Claire Morin introduced us to him.

"He came in with an abundance of cats that were in a crowded situation in the home," she said. "Most of his brothers and sisters are gone, but Weber is still here."

Weber loves the attention and if you aren't giving him enough he will let you know.

"Weber is very, very sweet. As you can see, he's very needy for attention. He loves his treats, and he can get a little overstimulated. He's very attention seeking. And if you don't give him attention right away, he nips at you a little bit, not a bite, more like a tender here I am — pay attention to me," Morin said. "But he's very engaging, and he's a very, very sweet boy."
