Boland Will Be Accessible, Accountable

10-27-2009

To the Editor:

I encourage the voters of North Adams to commit to the success of the city by voting for Mike Boland as city councilor on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Mike will serve on the council as a steward of the city and will be accessible for ideas and feedback from all the citizens of North Adams. Mike is committed to utilizing his problem-solving, organizational and leadership skills to address issues affecting the quality of life for all residents of North Adams. His vision as a North Adams city councilor includes serving the citizens of the city; he believes that is what he is elected to do, and will do so always with the best interest of the city of North Adams.

He will respect the dignity of each citizen. He will be accessible, accountable and civil. He will encourage and support small business owners who strive to make a living in our community. He will work with our educators from preschool through college to advocate for the best and brightest teachers and access to the technologies that are necessary in out competitive market. Mike will inspire others to become civically engaged and never alienate the youth of our community. He is committed to keeping his eyes steadily fixed on the future with a broad perspective, keen insight and an appreciation of our rich and vital heritage.

I have known Mike for over 30 years. He is a thoughtful, intelligent and hard-working person who loves his community. As a parent, coach, teacher and friend he always seeks to bring out the best in each and every person he meets. I am confident he will bring those same traits and values to his role as a North Adams city councilor.

I encourage you to vote for the most promising of the many new and qualified candidates running for a seat on the North Adams City Council — Mike Boland. He will continue to make a positive impact on the future of North Adams.
