Edward J. Lescarbeau, 94

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Edward J. Lescarbeau, 94, 556 West Cross Road, formerly of 1131 River Road, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

Born in North Adams on Dec. 31, 1917, a son of Wilfred and Elodie Roy Lescarbeau, he attended schools in North Adams, including the former Notre Dame School.

A decorated Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European theater.

Mr. Lescarberau was employed as a transmission specialist mechanic for the former Spofford Motors and later at the former Shapiro Chevrolet, both in North Adams.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church in North Adams. He was a life member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion in North Adams.

His wife, the former Kathryn Dunn, whom he married July 29, 1946, died Jan. 5, 2007.

He leaves a son, Edward Lescarbeau and his wife, Diane, of East Fairfield, Vt.; five daughters, Holly Moore, with whom he made his home, Kathryn Davignon and Bonnie Demers and her fiance, Luke Malinowski, all of Clarksburg, and Barbara Andrews and her husband, Richard, and Sherri Andrews, all of North Adams; a brother, Stanley "Pete" Lescarbeau of Clarksburg; a sister, Rita DeMarsico of North Adams; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings George Scarbo, Alice Lescarbeau and Irene Boulerice, and his sons-in-law Rodney Moore, Bruce Davignon and Glen Demers.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Lescarbeau will take place Friday, April 6, at 9 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial with military honors will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday, April 5, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion through the funeral home.
