DALTON, Mass. – The South Hadley girls lacrosse team Tuesday earned a 9-8 win over Wahconah to split the season series.

“Even though we came out on the wrong side of the column today, the girls continue to grow,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “Last time we played them, it was a one goal game in our favor and this time we were unable to put the game away. Today we were short handed and asked a lot of the new players who stepped up and played.”

Claire Naef scored five goals and assisted on two more. Eva Eberwein finished with two goals and two assists, and Ava Massaro scored once.

Phalyn Renderer made 12 saves in the loss.

Wahconah (5-4) hosts Mount Greylock on Thursday.
