LUDLOW, Mass. – Eris Learned was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to give the Ludlow softball team a 2-1 win over Mount Everett on Friday.

After the Lions took the lead in the bottom of the fourth, the Eagles struck back one inning later.

Aliyah Creamer hit a one-out single and moved up on a groundout. She then scored when Olivia Goewey singled and went to second on an error.

Julia Devoti scattered five hits in the circle for Mount Everett, allowing one earned run.

“Great game today,  tough outcome but we battled today at the plate and played solid in the field,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “The errors we did have were hard hit balls that we just couldn't field but we battled all game. Maddie Sunderland throws extremely well and tested us.”

Sunderland struck out 13 for Ludlow, walking just one.

The Eagles (5-4) host Southwick-Tolland on Monday.
