Pou's Walkoff Lifts Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Amanda Pou singled to drive in Gionnah Levardi in the bottom of the eighth to give the Pittsfield softball team a 6-5 win over Hampshire Regional on Tuesday.
 
Levardi started the winning rally with a leadoff single to left field.
 
She moved up when Ella Bassi followed with a single.
 
After Mia Arpante's sacrifice bunt advanced Levardi to third, Pou delivered the walkoff single to make the Generals 3-2 on the season.
 
Isabella MacDonald went 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs, and Levardi went 3-for-4 with a double in an 11-hit attack for the Generals.
 
Pittsfield was down, 5-3, going into the bottom of the sixth inning.
 
MacDonald started the sixth with a single to left. Sadie Aitken followed with a walk.
 
After Mia DeJesus reached on a one-out error to put two runners in scoring position, Levardi singled to the left side to drive in both runs and tie the game, 5-5.
 
Levardi retired Hampshire in order in the seventh and eighth innings to keep the game tied.
 
She went to the circle in the sixth in relief of starter Pou.
 
Levardi struck out one and did not allow a base runner to pick up the win.
 
Pittsfield is home again on Wednesday to face McCann Tech.
