Carlyn Mae Bass, 69

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Carlyn Mae Bass, 69, of 239 Mohawk Forest Blvd. died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at her home. Born in North Adams on May 4, 1943, daughter of Arthur and Lillian Ricke Aubin, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School, where she was a baton twirler for the Drury Marching Band. Ms. Bass was last employed at the former Molly's Bakery on Eagle Street. Before that, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church. She enjoyed writing and had two stories published. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and genealogy. She leaves two daughters, Denise Gibson of Lenox and Sheryl Gibson of North Adams; three sons, Stephen Gibson and Henry Gibson, both of Adams, and Allen Gibson of Waverly Hill, Ga.; two brothers, Raymond Aubin of North Adams and Alfred Aubin of Malta, N.Y.; four sisters, Anita Lesure of Adams, Anne Mowe of Hoosac Tunnel, Jacqueline Dobbert of North Adams and Jeanne Scrivens of Texas; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A daughter, Lorraine Poette, and her triplet grandchildren Allen, Noah and Grace Gibson, predeceased her. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Ms. Bass will be Monday, April 22, at 8:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 at St. Elizabeth if Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 21, from 2 to 5 at the funeral home.
