Maria Z. Gimenez, 91, of 235 Walker St. died Friday evening at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center. Born in Philadelphia on May 13, 1909, daughter of Tomas and Maria Lequerica Zarraga, she attended schools there. She lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., for many years and came to Lenox in 1994. Mrs. Gimenez was a homemaker. Her husband, Daniel Gimenez, died Dec. 1, 1964. She leaves a daughter, Elaine Steinert of Lenox; three sisters, Margarita O'Donnell of Virginia, Paula Weyman of Souderton, Pa., and Laura Alvarez of Philadelphia, and three grandchildren. Another daughter, Marie Morton, died July 25, 1997. The funeral for Mrs. Maria Z. Gimenez will be Wednesday morning from Joseph Fluehr Funeral Home in Chalfont, Pa. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Philadelphia. Mrs. Gimenez, daughter of Tomas and Maria Lequerica Zarraga, was very proud of her Spanish-Basque origins. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church on the Hill in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, which is in charge of arrangements.
