William G. Keser

William G. Keser, 51, of 3759 Route 9 died yesterday at the home of his parents and sister, who cared for him during his long illness. Born in Pittsfield on April 2, 1950, son of Joanne M. Griffin Keser Trova and the late Paul Keser, he was a 1968 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He was also the son of Emile Trova, who raised him since he was a child. He served as a lance corporal in the Marines from August 1968 to September 1971, during the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart, the National Defense Ribbon, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon. Mr. Keser was a group leader at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield and in Schenectady, N.Y., where he was employed at the time of his death. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his parents, he leaves his wife, the former Lois M. Bourassa of Dalton; two daughters, Christine Keser of Dalton and Jenifer Keser of Brattleboro, Vt.; a son, Aaron Keser of Dalton; a sister, Tina L. Trova of Pittsfield; two brothers, Alec C. Trova of Pittsfield and Michael A. Trova of San Antonio, Texas, and his maternal grandmother, Marie Carcheidi of San Jose, Calif. Funeral services for Mr. Keser will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 9 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
