Francis E. DeBlois, 75
ADAMS, Mass. — Francis Edward DeBlois, 75, of Rochester, N.H., and formerly of Adams and Williamstown, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Pittsfield on May 7, 1939, son of Francis G. and Helen Czaja DeBlois, he attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Adams High School. He also graduated from Arizona State University and later earned a master's degree from Lesley College in Cambridge.
An Army veteran, he served as a radio operator, stationed in Germany.
Mr. DeBlois was last employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams as its marketing manager. He also operated his own advertising business, Prospect Mountain.
He was an avid sports fan, especially following Williams College athletics and University of New Hampshire football. He also enjoyed gardening and travel.
His wife, the former Betty June Lanter, whom he married in May 1964, died on Nov. 4, 1997.
He leaves his partner, Sara Keniston; two sons Christopher F. DeBlois of Roswell, Ga., and Alexander A. DeBlois and his wife, Tracy, of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; a brother, Gregory A. DeBlois of Adams; four grandchildren Christopher, twins Matthew and Patrick, and Margaret, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. DeBlois will be held Saturday, May 31, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown.
Calling hours will be Friday, May 30, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop 70 of Williamstown in care of the funeral home.
