Florence Vincent

Florence Ellen Vincent, 82, of Boca Raton, Fla., a native of North Adams, formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at Hospice by the Sea Care Center in Boca Raton. Born in North Adams on Dec. 23, 1918, daughter of Joseph and Ella Cadron Marco, she attended schools there. She moved to Boca Raton in 1964. In her early years, Mrs. Vincent sang with the Sammy Vincent orchestra, a 14-piece dance and jazz band led by her husband, Sammy Vincent, in the Berkshires and the surrounding area. She was a member of Ascension Catholic Church in Boca Raton. She leaves her husband, whom she married Sept. 23, 1939; a daughter, Janis Phillips of Boca Raton; a sister, Alice Clark of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Vincent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church, Boca Raton, Fla., at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, followed by interment in Boca Raton Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice by the Sea Care Center, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486-3395.
