Lorraine Cooney

Lorraine E. Cooney, 62, of 37 Chamberlain Ave. died Sunday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 27, 1938, daughter of Paul and Theresa Cronin Depew, she attended Dalton schools. Mrs. Cooney was employed by Dunkin' Donuts. She previously had been employed by the former Valley View Nursing Home and at one time had worked at BMC. She was a member of the Pittsfield American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary and Itam Lodge. She leaves two daughters, Colleen E. Cooney of Dalton and Michelle Tower of East Aurora, N.Y.; two sons, Austin P. Cooney of Dalton and Shaun P. Cooney of Raleigh, N.C., and eight grandchildren. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church by the Rev. John A. Koonz, pastor. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
