Dorothy H. Silverman, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dorothy Hilda Silverman, 90, of North Adams died on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Williamstown Commons. Born in North Adams on Jan. 18, 1924, daughter of Guido and Delia Balduzzi Delaiti, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. She also attended the former Bliss Business College for one year. Mrs. Silverman was last employed by the former England Brothers Department Store as the director of personnel and customer service for 17 years until her retirement in 1980. Prior to that, she worked at Brook Haven National Laboratories on Long Island, N.Y., for two years and in personnel at the former Big N Department Store in Pittsfield. She and her husband, Louis Silverman, were married on July 26, 1952, in Pownal, Vt. Besides her husband of 62 years, she leaves one son, Mark Silverman of Boston; two nieces, Bernice Gaynor-Goldman of Acton and Celia Goldman of Hartford, Conn.; a nephew, Gerald Goldman of Rhinebeck, N.Y., and Kathy Grandshaw of Pittsfield, whom she treated as one of her nieces. Her brother, Hugh Delaiti, and a sister, Marilyn Heacox, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE — In honor of Mrs. Silverman's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is entrusted with arrangements.

Lou and Mark, We are saddened by the loss of Dorothy. She always had such a wonderful smile. I will miss telling her stories about A.J. and Stephanie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Lou and Mark,
I was very saddened o hear of Dorothy,s death.
My father adored his cousin, Dorothy. The Silverman family were always my parent's favorite. They were spoken of highly and lovingly. Dorothy was classy, beautiful, full of grace. Her deep love for Lou and Mark was ever present.
Her light will shine in our memories.
Lou and Mark, you are in my thoughts and heart.

My Dear Friend Mrs. Silverman , RIP , since I moved to Holyoke two years ago , I think about you
so often. when my dear brother passed away , you
gave me words of encouragement. I was so SAD when
I read this , you will always be in my heart, I enjoyed every time you came in to have your hair done & Mr. Silverman .when we were done you always said ( I Love you Luis )My Heart will always have a print of Mrs. Silverman.Such a classy & elegant lady and down to earth.
