Shirley M. Lincoln, 80
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Shirley M. Lincoln, 80, of North Adams died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in North Adams on March 21, 1935, a daughter of Bertha Kendrick Jennings of North Adams and the late Lawrence Jennings, she graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School in 1952 and the former St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsfield in 1955.
Ms. Lincoln was employed as a registered nurse for 42 years, retiring in 1997 after 14 years at the former North Adams Regional Hospital. She was a compassionate, highly skilled, dedicated, and devoted nurse, giving the utmost care to all of her patients and their families.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was a member of the North Adams Retired Nurses of NARH, St. Luke's Alumni Association and a very active member in the Victims of Pan Am Flight 103. She loved traveling to Ogunquit, Maine, with her family and friends. She was a devoted and loving daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. Ms. Lincoln was loved by all.
Besides her mother, she leaves a son, Scott T. Lincoln and his wife, Lisa, of Stamford, Vt.; two sisters, Fran Lewis and Lois Ostrander; two grandchildren, Alexandra M. Lincoln and Branden S. Lincoln of Stamford; her high school sweetheart and longtime companion, James Moruzzi, and many cousins and friends, including her best friend JoAnne LaForest.
Her daughter, Wendy Anne Lincoln, died on Dec. 21, 1988, a victim of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ms. Lincoln will be celebrated on Monday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday, April 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Donations may be made to the Wendy Anne Lincoln Memorial Scholarship Fund.
