CECELIA F. SITNIK

Cecelia F. Sitnik, 94, of 19 Gilmore Avenue, Great Barrington, died Wednesday, January 3, at Fairview Hospital. Born in Great Barrington January 19, 1906 she was the oldest child of John T. and Margaret E. Kane Dunn and was educated in local schools. Mrs. Sitnik was employed at the former Stanley Works in Great Barrington and then many years at the former Great Barrington Manufacturing Company. She was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Southern Berkshire Post 127, American Legion. She leaves her husband A. Albert Sitnik, whom she married February 18, 1933 at St. Ann’s Church, Lenox. She also leaves a daughter Cecelia S. Meade of West Stockbridge, two sisters, Agnes D. Murphy and Margaret E. Sermini, both of Great Barrington and three grandchildren. The funeral for Cecelia F. Sitnik will be Saturday, January 6 at 9:30 from the HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Peter’s Church celebrated by Reverend William H. Wallis, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours are today, Friday afternoon, from 3 to 5 p.m. Mrs. Sitnik leaves her son-in-law Thomas B. Meade and grandchildren, Thomas A. Meade, Kathleen M. Meade and John F. Meade and his wife, Ellen. Donations may be made to Fairview Hospital Development Fund or St. Peter’s Church Memorial Fund C/O Hickey-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Mrs. Sitnik was predeceased by brothers John T. Dunn and Robert E. Dunn.
