Edith Charpentier

Edith F. Charpentier, 85, of Orchard House died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Sept. 20, 1916, in Astoria, Queens, N.Y., daughter of Arthur and Florence Treckman Andariese, she attended local schools. She moved to Orchard House to live with her son, Peter, in 1987. Mrs. Charpentier was employed as the purchasing agent for City University of New York for 15 years, retiring in 1972. Her husband, Edward J. Charpentier, whom she married in 1937 in New York City, died in 1986. She leaves three sons, Edward Charpentier of Hillsdale, N.J., Peter Charpentier of Tyringham and Arthur Charpentier of Briar Cliff Manor, N.Y.; two brothers, Elmer "Buddy" Andariese of Okeechobee, Fla, and Robert Andariese of Willengboro, N. J., and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held graveside at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Mespeth, N.Y. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Popavero Funeral Home, 7227 Grand Ave., Mespeth, N.Y. FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, Great Barrington, is in charge of arrangements in Massachusetts.
