Anthony E. Canale, 63

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Anthony Eugene Canale, 63, of Franklin Street died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at his home.
Born in North Adams on May 29, 1952, son of Anthony John and Ada Arrighini Canale, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School, where he was captain of the football team. He also graduated from American International College, where he was captain of the football team and three-year letterman. He was also president of his fraternity.
Mr. Canale was a longtime operator and executive in the restaurant industry.
He was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was an avid sportsman and a Civil War history buff.
He leaves his son, Justin H. Canale of Decatur, Ga.; his daughter, Sarah M. Page of New York City; a sister, Sheila Sprague and her husband, Paul, of North Adams; a grandson, Jackson Joseph Page; an uncle, Eugene "Red" Arrighini of North Adams, and a nephew, Peter Sprague of Tamarack, Fla.
He was predeceased by his sister Sheila Julia Sprague.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Canale will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 18, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St.North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
