Mildred A. Cole, 77

NORTH ADAMS -- Mildred Alice Cole, 77, of 423 State Road died yesterday morning. Born in North Adams on June 17, 1924, daughter of Gaspar and Eva Charron Marcil, she attended North Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame School. She graduated from Drury High School in 1943. In her younger years, she was employed by the former F.W. Woolworth Co. store on Main Street. She also was employed by Sprague Electric for several years, as a nurse's aide at a nursing home in North Adams and at the former Hunter Outdoor Products. She was most recently employed by Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. Her husband, Merrill Wesley Cole, whom she married May 18, 1950, died Oct. 8, 1995. She leaves a daughter, Marilyn Cole Dostie of North Adams; a sister, Rita Ross of Torrance, Calif., and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marsha Eva Pisano, who died Aug. 10, 1995, and a son, Michael Merrill Cole, who died April 28, 1979. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral Services for Mildred Alice Marcil Cole will take place Monday at 10:15 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, State Road, North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, are Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the Eileen Barrett Oncology Unit at North Adams Regional Hospital or to the VNA & Hospice in Northern Berkshire through the funeral home. Survivors include a son-in-law, Dennis Dostie; two grandchildren, Michael Pisano and Sara Hernandez; her granddaughter to be, Christina Fagley. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marsha Pisano; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Merrill Cole and Mary Anne Garland Cole, and a brother, Raymond Gaspar Marcil.
