Margaret E. Senecal, 66

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Margaret Emily Senecal, 66, of Woodlawn Avenue died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at the North Adams Campus of Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 10, 1949, daughter of Joseph R. and Marion McCulloch Lyden, she graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1967. She also studied at Berkshire Community College and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in fine arts.
Mrs. Senecal was employed by the North Adams Public Schools as an art teacher at the former Conte Middle School for 34 years, until her retirement in 2006.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She enjoyed gardening and maintained a large flower and a vegetable garden, canning her own vegetables. In her younger years, she played in the women's softball league. She loved animals, especially cats, and she enjoyed painting, ceramics and jigsaw puzzles.
She leaves her husband, Leo W. Senecal, whom she married on July 8, 1972; two sisters, Linda M. Wnuk and Beth Lyden-Fortier, both of Adams; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and several godchildren.
A sister, Roberta L. Fortin, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Senecal will be Friday, March 4, at 10 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 3, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
