Anna M. Mariani, 97

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Anna May Mulvaney Mariani, 97, of North Adams died Friday, March 11, 2016, at North Adams Commons.

Mrs. Mariani was born in Clarksburg on May 25, 1918, daughter of David and Emma Yandow Mulvaney. She attended schools in Clarksburg and graduated from the Drury High School.

She was employed at Sprague Electric Co. for more than 20 years and was last employed by General Cable Co. until her retirement.

Mrs. Mariani was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks. She was a devoted wife and mother and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her husband Alfred J. Mariani, whom she married on Sept. 28, 1940, died on April 26, 1998. A son, David Alfred Mariani, died on June 23, 2015. She was also predeceased by one sister and four brothers: Alice Filiault and David, John, James and Edward Mulvaney.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. Mariani, and his wife Lisa of North Adams; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Anna Mariani will be celebrated Thursday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday, March 17, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society.
